Excellent choice for a cool family stay

Definitely no regret, just in contrary: Pierre was very helpful, made everything possible to change our initial reservation. Location is just ideal on Anse Volbert at Côte d'Or: quiet, yet not isolated, just a quarter of an hour away by walk along the beach from little shops, take aways, restaurants... Villas (ours was a double-bedroom one) are very spacious with integrated kitchen, excellent bedding. Being located a few meters away from the beach is very convenient when staying with little children. People at Villa d'or are very kind and helpfull: we were more than warmly welcomed and the team did everything to facilitate our stay and make it pleasant. For sure, this is a place we would reconsider for staying again in Praslin.

The staff made our stay an absolute delight - Bhagat, Alana, Rithsyl, Linza, Michel, Sandeep to name a few were all super friendly, helpful, kind and couldn’t do enough for us. Suren the general manager went absolutely above and beyond - he gave us invaluable tips on the local area - he knows everyone and everything to do! - and he organised most things for us, from car hire to fantastic restaurants to activities to days out - even researching for my husband how to get the local football jersey. He cared for us completely on the trip and made it 5 star. You will experience the same if you stay here. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Best stay in Praslin
Reviewed By SatyendraS_12We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Property is located on Grand Anse beach and has private access to beach. Beach is one of the bests in Praslin. Restaurants and supermarkets are at walkable distance. “Valle de Mai” is approximately 4.5 KM from the hotel. Property has been recently renovated and hence rooms are other amenities are very good. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Staff members are very warm and welcoming. We interacted with staff members Mrinal & Tarun and found them very friendly and helpful. Mrinal is property manager and is extremely professional and welcoming person. He helped and guide us on of how to travel in Praslin during our stay here. They also serve free breakfast ( if included in packages) which is not buffet but with few options to choose. I will highly recommend this place to someone looking to spend some time with nature and loved ones.

Lovely stay at Bliss
Reviewed By Sue DWe stayed in a Garden House room, near the beach, and close to the restaurant and bar. The room was kept spotless by the cleaners, but the lighting in our rooms was not great. We were at the side of the building, on the ground floor, so had no privacy, as there was a lot of people walking past the room, staff and guests alike, which meant that if we were in, we needed to keep the curtains closed most of the time. Staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Food is good, although the menu is a bit limited, there is also a "specials" board, and they are catering for large numbers of people of all nationalities, so it's fair enough. Prices are good for Praslin island, but everything is priced in Euros, although most places on Praslin seem to be priced in Seychelloise Rupees. The downside? 1. The hotel card payment system does not work properly, so do not expect to pay your bill by card. I had a last minute rush to the bank to get cash to pay our bill, 20 minutes before my airport taxi was due to arrive. 2. Chipped mugs and plates at breakfast, and you are expected to keep the cutlery you used for your starter for your main course. Come on, guys, buy some new ones, this really lets you down. 3. Hotel cats - guests are asked not to feed them, but they are all in need of a decent meal, and probably neutering before they are overrun with them. 4. Seaweed on the beach, but they can't do anything about that. 5. Mosquitoes, again they can't change that. Would I go back? Yes, overall we had a great time.

A well run hotel with a very nice pool
Reviewed By robinkE555KLA small hotel with only twelwe rooms. The hotel is well maintained. We stayed in room 3, next to the pool, with one king size double bed and one single bed. They also provided us with an extra single bed. Spacious room and bathroom. Fridge, A-C, wifi, everything up to standard. Daily cleaning service. Great service, very friendly and helpful staff and owner. Good breakfast (included) with eggs, toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, milk and cereal. One of the highlights was the pool, big enough to swim in (15*5m) and an absolute must in the afternoons and evenings. We loved everything about the hotel except the coffee (awful) and dinner (mediocre). However, the food here was no better nor worse than in other restaurants on the Islands. Located a few minutes walk from the town centre and beach. A small shop just outside the hotel and a take away restaurant 2 minutes walk away. About 10 minutes by car to the north (taxi 150 SCR one way), there's a restaurant called 'Le Parisier', serving the most delicious pizzas.

Situated about 3 minute's drives from the Airport, and 20 minutes from the Jetty. Walking distance from the Grand Anse shopping center, cinema, banks, restaurants, churches and about 3 minutes walk to a white sandy beach. La Modestie has 3 self catering, family type apartments - villas complete with air-conditioning, kitchenette and cutleries, TV channels, internet access, bathroom and shower, hot water, sofa bed and private veranda overlooking the garden. Situated on the ground floor. The 4 suites are comfortably furnished. Situated on the first & second floor, whereby there are connecting rooms. The Relaxant atmosphere are well equipped with air conditions, ceiling fan, bathroom and comprising of hot water facility, tea & coffee making facilities, free of charge, safe, mini bar, flat screen, desk, closet, and chair lounge sitting area. Cars for rent can be organised for our guests. La Modestie guest house and self catering can accommodate family, groups, friends, and couples looking for a romantic vacation.
Fabulous stay thanks to Emir
Reviewed By KiljamWe stayed at La Modestie for 2 nights this augest.From check in we had an amazing experience as even though we arrived well before check-in time, Emir had a room prepared for us which was much appreciated. He told us lots of helpful information about the island and advise on where to see and what to do. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, with restaurants and a bus stop 2 minute walk from the guesthouse. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am and is light and refreshing. On our second morning we had a trip booked to La Digue and had to leave the guesthouse before breakfast was being served. However Emir went out of his way to ensure breakfast was served to us before we left for the day. On our day of departure, we were allowed to checkout late and Emir personally offered to drive us to the airport. Would really recommend staying at La Modestie while visiting Praslin. Thanks a lot Emir for a fantastic stay!

Reviewed By DirkS14Erster Urlaub nach zwei Jahren Pause. Und gleich einen Volltreffer gelandet. Sea View Lodge, direkt an der Anse Possession, hat sich als perfektes Quartier ausgezeichnet. Unsere "MANGO" Villa hatte alles was man sich wünscht. In einer gepflegten, charmanten Anlage die wir als sehr gelungen empfanden, mit Blick vom geräumigen Balkon direkt auf die Bucht. Ein sehr freundliches Willkommen von Gretel, der Betreiberin, die sich herzlich um alle Anliegen gekümmert hat ( Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, hauseigene Autovermietung...) Am Ankunftstag bestellten wir ein Dinner für vier Personen- eine gute Idee wenn man grade Appetit hat und erst einmal das Gepäck auspacken möchte. Wunderbar zubereiteter Catch of the Day auf Creolische Art und ein feines Poulet, dazu ein gut gekühlter Chardonnay. Sehr empfehlenswert. Unser Housekeeper war das Juwel in der Krone, stets gut gelaunt und immer mit geschultem Auge, hatte er ein gutes Gespür wann es der richtige Zeitpunkt für's tägliche Reinigungsprogramm war. Alles immer Tiptop mit Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Er ist auch der Koch des Hauses! Deswegen entschieden wir uns auch für ein Farewell - Dinner am Tag der Abreise. Fazit.: ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt, immer gerne- und vielleicht in Zukunft wieder!

Very nice hotel and staff

The staff is really really nice, the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, the pool is also very clean and everybody is generally willing to help. Indeed the bathrooms could be renovated, but to be honest we did not come that far to be picky about this kind of stuff. As long as the bed is comfortable to get a good sleep and the hotel staff is nice, we are more than happy! The beach is not far away, you can get to see nice sunsets from there. The bus station and two supermarkets as well as a souvenir shop is just 200 metres away. To sum up, we can only recommend this hotel, we really had a wonderful time!
