Reviewed By waiganjyI arrived late at night and the reception was very good. My room was huge and very clean with c;ean sheet and towels. The bathroom was clean and had both a bathtub and shower with hot water. Staff were helpful and gave advice on many issues, shoping, touring, restaurants. One has to place an order for lunch and dinner and the food takes a long time to be prepared. The two days i ate dinner, the food was very good. Moaquitoes can be a menace in the seating area outside.

Very comfortable hotel
Reviewed By EvaOFVery nice, brand new and clean hotel, with comfotable and quiet rooms. Very good breakfast and nice cofee-room. The staff is very dedicated and educated. It is a really good hoyel to stay in Nouadhibou and highly recommended!

Great staff in good hotel
Reviewed By Henri MLike so many other customers have written, this hotel has absolutely great staff. They really escalate the hotel from good to great. I was surprised how nice and personalized the breakfast was, did not expect this. Staff at reception are just amazing, they try to help you far more than the duty requires (in my case about a visa in another country). Location is ok, I guess there is no perfect location in Nouakchott. The free airport transfer is a great added value and the rooms are far bigger than normally rooms are. Only negative aspect is lack of elevator, however the staff do carry your luggage, so you don't need to worry about that. Internet is also sometimes quite slow, might be in the whole country. The food at restaurant is ok and reasonable priced. If I would ever go back to Mauritania, I would definitely get back to this hotel.

Reviewed By MartinG6121The Auberge Diaguili provides relaxed accommodation in a pleasant part of Nouakchott. The rooms are a good size, the bed was comfortable and everything was kept spotlessly clean. Continental breakfast is served every morning and a good dinner was available four nights per week. There is a kitchen available and you can make tea and coffee at any time. No TV in the room but there is one in the communal lounge. The manager, Pascal, was very helpful. Free WiFi worked fine, but was sometimes a bit slow in the evenings. The Auberge is popular with french-speaking visitors.

The Perfect Place
Reviewed By drnorthI can't say enough great things about Jeloua. I arrived there for the last few days of my time in Mauritania and I was ready for a little comfort, and I found it here. The hotel is so pretty. My room was lovely and had a private bathroom with a bathtub, which felt like heaven. The house itself is cute and has the nicest front garden yard/restaurant were I ate and enjoyed evenings and mornings. The restaurant there is considered one of the best in the city and the food I had there was good. The staff and owner were so nice and helpful and assisted me with arranging a car to a covid testing place, a car to the airport, and getting my laundry done. The wifi was excellent. The location was good. lots of restaurants and shops were within walking distance and I was able to walk to the city centre as well, though Jeloua itself is on a quiet street. I loved it there and would definitely recommend it.

Reviewed By drnorthI spent two nights here as I travelled from Nouakchott to the Adrar. It was a good choice. It is basic, but has everything you need. I booked one of the rooms with AC. It was simple, but clean and comfortable. The AC wasn't totally necessary, but it was nice. One night the electricity was out in the area and so I slept outside on a little cot which was pleasant. Clean bathrooms and showers were in separate buildings. There wasn't wifi available all the time, but if you ask the owner he will tether you to his phone of tablet and that worked well. The owner was very hospitable. Fed me as soon as I arrived and offered tea. Breakfasts were available for a small charge. Helped set up a comfy bed for me outside when I wanted to sleep under the stars. He also helped me to arrange a driver to do a day trip to Chinguetti. The location is about 2km from the centre of Atar, but it is an easy walk or a cheap taxi ride. I would recommend it and would stay here again.

Excellent Hotel
Reviewed By etiennet840Stayed there for one night only on my way to the Sahara, and the service was superb and the room was amazing. Got confused with another hotel name I saw on a blog (vlog), and arrived to the front desk asking for the price that I thought was the correct one. The front desk gentelman asure me I was at the wrong place, and even though I was not convinced, he lowered the price to what I thought it was and argued it was. Later on I learned that indeed, the man on the desk was right and I was wrong, but still, he gave me the price I thought was right. For that, and for the service, I do recommend this place, it goes to show that even in Mauritania, the rule of "the customer's always right" goes a long way. Thank you, Hotel Prestige, I love your place, and the personnel's professionalism.

A pleasant 6-week stay

It is a small apartment hotel with little to no frills, but safe and comfortable I had a one bedroom apartment consisting of a bedroom with a comfortable bed, and armoire for clothing. The living room was equpped with TV with multiple channels, a semi-comfortable sofa and a table serving double as a work station and for dining. Water pressure in the shower was not the best, but, hey.... you adjust. The kitchen was small, but had most of the essentials to prepare simple meals. There was no hot water, though in the kitchen. They might want to update or increase some of the utensils and pots/pans, but I made managed. The air conditioner worked well. The apartment was cleaned daily. A young woman was available to wash and iron clothing (at a reasonable cost), and a friendly permanent staff was readily available to respond to any needs. The location is ideal.--walking distance to several supermarkets, banks, and some restaurants. Wifi is available, but I found it weak at times. However, there are different codes to use 'til you found the strongest for your apartment location. Unlike larger chain hotels, there was no main lobby area for lounging but ... didn't need it. My six week stay was enjoyed. I would highly recommend it for extended stays in Nouakchott. I'll book again if I ever have opportunity to return for an extended stay.
