Reviewed By Jessica CThe place is gorgeous and beautiful even In a cold season like December. We stayed at a two floor big room. Very good environment nearby and can walk around in early mornings and afternoon. Will think about to visit again in cherry blossom season

Reviewed By Dennis123400This is a place where you can really enjoy relaxing moments by listening to the sounds of the rain when it rains, heavenly sounds that you will not hear in other places. I think it is the main reason why it is called 聽濤園 in Chinese. 這是一個你可以真正的享受片刻輕鬆的地方。尤其當雨落下來的時候，打在屋頂上的樂音，是天籟之聲。這樣的樂音是你在別處聽不到的聲音。我想，這也是它為什麼取名為聽濤園的主要原因。

Not worth the money
Reviewed By Sylvia CThe room was rather on the pricey side, it is understood that on the mountain it tends to be a bit humid, but it would be great if the host did something about it like dehumidifier. The items in the room was very basic and was rather old. For example the wall hair drier provided in the room was of age and was broken.

Perfect location and very caring staff
Reviewed By EstTravellerI visited Xitou with my family and our main goal was to explore the nature area and be as close to the gate as possible for early morning start. You basically cannot stay closer than Hsitou Man Tuo Xiang Homestay - it is couple of minutes from the gate and right in the centre of the village with all the shops and restaurants around it. Despite the fact that the windows were facing the street, there was no noise. The staff spoke good English and was very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. They made some extra steps for us and we felt really taken care of (for example a small gift for our little daughter, reduced entrance fee to the park). Room was large and clean, breakfast really tasty (and was served in the room). The only thing you need to know that if you arrive by car then you can unload your luggage in front of the homestay but the parking spot is quite far (over a kilometer) away. They offer transfer with a roller so for us it was very ok as you do not need a car in Xitou. All in all a great experience and we would definitely stay there again if ever in Xitou.

Enjoyed our stay in this really atmospheric rural house
Reviewed By Darren SBeing westerners visiting Taiwan this was a first for us to get out of the big towns and 'business hotels'. Peter was a great host and made a real effort to talk and share with us local tea and fruit. I bought some whiskey from him which was an excellent surprise. The hotel has a unique historic atmosphere, which I really enjoyed. The wooden floors and mesh lined corridors have a lovely local living feeling. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night while travelling onto somewhere else - and perhaps this is the reason we got given disposable towels rather than the real thing, but other than that though I could not fault the stay. Would stay here again. Great proximity to Xitou, other attractions and rural scenic Taiwan. You definitely need a car to get here - and I'd recommend you should arrive in daylight hours on your first day to avoid any difficulties navigating.

The European chalet built on the Donding Hill gives you an incredibly spectacular view of mountain, amid a sea of clouds. In the evening you can fully enjoy the sunset, afterglow and finally the curtain of night. At the back of B&B, you will be seeing the beauty of green tea tree hills and golden bamboo forests. The host of this hostel, a retired teacher, is quite fond of gardening and photography, which we can see some of dedicated decoration of gardening plants design are presented in the photos where we see from the promotion pictures. You're mostly welcome if you are willing to stop by our hostel , you will find something such as sightseeing tour or splendid hostel view impress you on your traveling path.

Reviewed By Departure805758我們一家三口入住三人房，房間內有除濕機跟冷氣，房內清爽舒服，棉被乾淨鬆軟；早餐是傳統的地瓜稀飯，配上現炒的野菜+蘿蔔乾九層塔煎蛋還有當地的醃筍等...在涼爽的溪頭清晨讓人胃口大開^_^ 老闆熱情好客配上現泡的杉林溪好茶，這一趟旅程真是超級加分!!
