Free parking, parking for disabled , Free WIFI, Tenniscourt !! The family-run B&B Blauwestadhoeve (1879) is a formal farmer house, directly near the woods of Landgoed Ennemaborgh and only 900 metres from the lake / beach of Oldambt, near several restaurants, Bakery and food shop. It features charming authentic accommodation with free Wi-Fi and a tennis court on site. Blauwestadhoeve's rooms each have new boxsprings beds and LED flatscreen tv's and small in-room refrigerators. The family rooms (DISABLE FRIENDLY)have a private terrace with seating corner, kitchenette and a private bathroom, dogs allowed (extra costs) . Guests of the other rooms on the first floor (nice garden views) can make use of the several bathroom and several toilet facilities (bath ropes are provided). Bicycle rent. A breakfast containing fresh breads and freshly pressed orange juice. Free private parking is available on site.

The room was big with a lot of space, with not longer than 100meter to the water. And the beds were awsome. Comfortable and spacious.The only thing that was less good were that it was a littlebit cold on the floor now in the spring season, but that was not a big issue in my opinion. I just had a pair of socks on!

Reviewed By schooljuffrouwWat een geweldig verblijf om te overnachten.De hoeve is gebouwd in 1890 maar op dezelfde locatie was al vanaf 1600 bebouwing aanwezig. De plek waar de hoeve staat is een beschermd dorpsgezicht. Wij verbleven er in een ruime b en kamer met badkamer met bad en douche en wc. Met eigen opgang en terras. Er is volop luxe aanwezig met tv, gratis WiFi, koffiezetapparaat, waterkoker . In de hal zijn allerlei folders over uitjes in de omgeving en een ijskastje waar je he eigen drankjes in kunt doen of tegen een klein bedrag frisdrank, bier of wijn kunt kopen. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk en doen alles om je het naar de zin te maken. Ook is er nog een 4 persoons appartement met een keukentje erbij met combi magnetron. Wij hebben er een heerlijk verblijf gehad met een super ontbijt erbij! Zelfs de plastic zakjes ontbraken niet zodat je ook nog broodjes kon meenemen. En voor een hele schappelijke prijs. We komen er zeker nog eens terug. Bedankt voor de gastvrijheid.

When you stay in this hotel you should book a dinner table too. They serve meat from their own farm. Prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. The hotel and farm are family owned.

Reviewed By KjellOGLocated a few hundred meters from the German border, the star fort Bourtange was built by William of Orange to control the access between the Spanish-friendly Groningen and Germany. It was the scene of several battles over the centuries. In the 21st Century, the fort is a living museum with shops, restaurants, a hotel - and houses where people live. I came across the hotel quite by accident as I was looking for a hotel "just across the border". The location is less than a kilometer inside the Netherlands and easily reached from the motorways. Since this hotel is in a museum, the reception is also the tourist information. The only issue is that it closes at 17:00 - which was made clear in the confirmation they sent. Too bad I didn't pay attention and took the extremely scenic route along the Elbe and ended up stuck in a two-hour long ferry queue... A little before 17:00, a lady from the hotel called and asked when we would arrive. They had a Plan B with safes for keys and information. Excellent service, I thought - saving my bacon so I didn't stand there looking the fool. The room was in one of the former barracks of the fortress. It was large with a king size bed. It seemed newly built or renovated and very clean. The same goes for the bathroom which had a bathtub and a shower. Breakfast is included and served in a separate building. Again - the building seemed newly renovated on the inside. The exterior was very much 1742. The food was fresh, locally sourced, and tastefully presented. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but several inside the fortress that serve excellent food. Walking distance? Well, shorter than in most five-star hotels. Incidentally, access to the forterss' museum buildings is free for hotel guests. As we drove off, my wife insisted on returning. I agreed.

Beautiful authentic local hotel with super friendly staff

I grew up in this part of the Netherlands and appreciate the authenticity - the hotel is a farmhouse and barn that has been turned into a beautiful hotel. The receptionist was very welcoming. Ample parking on the property. Beautiful and spacious room with a build out that was used for my daughter extra bed, and had its own curtains, almost a small separate side room. The room has radiant floor heating and an air conditioner unit that also serves as additional heating in the wintertime. Comfortable king size bed, plenty of nice towels. Large - two person - soaking tub/ Jacuzzi. Breakfast was served in room because of local COVID measures, but the restaurant downstairs - in the renovated/ remodeled barn, was lovely, with Christmas tree/ decorations and a cozy atmosphere. The original house – front of the property is turned into a high-end restaurant, unfortunately closed because of COVID measures, we peaked in and it looked wonderful as well as the menu options. Breakfast, included in the room rate, has many options, including local specialty breads and pastries. WIFI worked well, fairly fast – Noticeable as many hotels it’s just mediocre speed. The room has a modest size LCD tv mounted across from the bed. There is a spa we did not use – no time unfortunately. Overall, a wonderful surprise is a less touristy part of the country. The owner told me they would close for the 1Q22 because of local COVID situation. After that, on my next trip to the Netherlands – I will be back for sure.

Reviewed By FrankXXXThis hotel is made from an old school. They split the rooms in half and now you have a lot of space. The beds are good as the sanitary unit. The staff is very friendly. You can enter the hotel yourself if you stay up late. The next morning you can have your breakfast in a pub. This was the former gym of the school. The breakfast is good but modest. You understand this from the prize. You can park for free. We returned here several times.
