My husband, another couple, and I visited Williamsburg at the end of the Memorial Day weekend and what a gem we found in the Cedars. Leroy welcomed us when we arrived and graciously showed us our rooms and explained the arrangements. It was great to have a little fridge where we could store a few items we had in our cooler bag and to have newspapers and comfortable lounging spots both inside and out. Both rooms were exactly as advertised. We had rooms on the main floor of the house. They both felt spacious with their high ceilings. I give the owners credit for creating comfortable bathrooms despite space restrictions. I loved having a chair in my room and endulged myself with a little introvert time after our first day before we headed out to dinner. The next morning we had the opportunity to meet Alex who was such a delight--it's truly hard to share adequately. He took the opportunity to get to know us and then shared personal experiences which were both interesting and really humorous. Definitely can imagine standup in his future. We would all highly recommend the Cedars and would revisit again if the opportunity provided.

As before, Debbie and John were great hosts! We always enjoy our stay; we are greeted with a warm reception, then off to our elegant, spotless suite! This time we stayed in the Churchill Room. The bed was comfortable, we slept very well. The water pressure was great with plenty of hot water. And compliments to the cook for the breakfasts are wonderful! We will be back.

What a gem we found! Affordable elegance on a beautiful street close to everything you'd come here to see and do. We had 2 suites on the second floor which were tastefully decorated and well equipped. The bed in the Magnolia Suite was so comfortable! We had one small housekeeping issue that Scott took care of immediately. He's a fun host who is very informative about the area, and he sure knows how to cook! I'd recommend Magnolia Manor for anyone coming to the Williamsburg area. *not ADA accessible

Outstanding hospitality!

We were there for four nights stayed in the King William Suite, which was large by B&B standards with a sitting area and a fantastic, private deck overlooking the woods in back. The room was very quite and easy to sleep in. The house was very interesting with a library and sitting room at the front of the house, and a living room at the back of the house, all filled with delightful curiosities to occupy your time when not out at the historic sites. A key amenity is the coffee machine with as wide a selection as any commercial coffee house, always a welcome treat. However, the real treat was the owner, Ike, who was there each morning and evening to talk with the guests, ask about our daily travels, provide suggestions, and act as the consummate host. A true gentleman, witty, friendly, and knowledgeable, he made the house feel like a home!

Fife and Drum Inn

Historic Williamsburg's only downtown lodging. The Fife & Drum Inn is adjacent to the shops and restaurants of Merchants Square and just a short walk from the heart of historic Colonial Williamsburg. William & Mary, the country's second chartered college, is across the street. Our guests consistently tell us we are the perfect cross between a small "boutique" hotel and a bed and breakfast. Inn keepers and owners Sharon and Billy Scruggs were born and raised in Williamsburg and are most adept at helping you to make the most of your visit. Some of the best restaurants in Williamsburg (maybe Virginia) are located with in a block. Convenient to most everything you could want in Williamsburg

Outstanding! So happy we could stay here.

We just had an all too quick one night stay and cannot rave about this wonderful place enough. The excellent service began with advance emails from owner Billy giving detailed directions to their convenient free parking. The location of the inn could not be more perfect - adjacent to the historical area and close to many great restaurants. Our “George Washington” room was fabulous! Sometimes staying in an old historic building means dealing with dated rooms. Everything in our room was updated, thoughtful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Lots of wonderful little touches. The four poster bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent. The wifi worked great and there were lots of convenient plugs, There is a nice lounge area with a lovely adjacent terrace and snacks and tea and coffee available along with a nice continental breakfast. We were there on a Monday night so not all restaurants were open but we enjoyed visits to Precarious, Amber Ox, Mellow Mushroom and Aromas. Thank you to Billy and Sharon for a wonderful stay! Sets a new standard for B&B experience.

Reviewed By Dave N

Absolutely sets a new standard for my wife and I, who have been traveling and utilizing B&Bs for years. Our room (Rhododendron Room) was spacious, beautiful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Location was fine, just a few short minutes from colonial Williamsburg. But the real jewel was our hostess, Angela, whose friendliness and terrific breakfasts make a great place a fantastic place. And for the dog people among you, be sure to ask for an audience with Hank, the very friendly and very vocal basset hound. For those of you who are not dog people, don't worry – you likely won't even know there's a dog around. Angela, thank you again so much for making the last weekend of our vacation the most memorable part of it.

Great for several reasons

Reviewed By Eunice G

I stayed two nights, for W & M Family Weekend. My room was cute, VERY clean and neat, quite and convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary. And the breakfast?? WOW! William the Breakfast Man is fantastic, charming, funny and full of information about almost anything you could ever think to ask about Williamsburg. During breakfast on my first morning there, he checked with all of the guests, and planned the next morning's breakfast, based on what we liked and thought sounded good. He's terrific. How serious am I about this review? I am about to make a reservation for later this week.
