Room reasonable size but a bit dated, generally OK except beds are firm. Wifi in room. Hot water a bit hit and miss as regards pressure and consistancy. Tip: 3 digit safe code not four as almost everywhere else I have stayed. Breakfast OK but not great. No lift but porters willing to help. OK for a short stay.

Lovely breakfast each morning and they will provide tea (and camel biscuits!) anytime you like. Location is excellent, it’s very easy to walk to all the main sites, plus plenty of restaurants nearby.

Both members of staff we dealt with were super professional and very friendly. Breakfast is really good and way above expectations. Room was good but could get much better. Bathroom could use much improvement. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Salom Inn for the location and service and for the breakfast too!

Hugely disappointed
Reviewed By Mick SWe were very excited to stay at Kasvar, to experience a more traditional construction. Before arriving we negotiated a small discount as it was low season. The first odd thing was when negotiating Shaxrior would give a discount for the first night but would not guarantee we would get that same discount for each additional night. He said we would have to come and then "see if there would be a discount". We tried to negotiate on a deluxe room but were told that both were occupied for the next three nights. Eventually we got him to agree a small discount on a standard room for three nights. After checking in (and seeing the hotel was completely empty except for us) and putting our bags in the room and going out for dinner, Shaxrior struck up a conversation as we were coming back in. Introducing his younger brother who was unusually forthright for an Uzbek in staring at my wife, Shaxrior said their machine wasn't working and could we pay cash, maybe the machine would be working tomorrow but could we pay one night in cash? We said due to the foreign transaction fees on our cash withdrawal that we wanted to pay using our credit card which had no foreign transaction fee. He then changed his story and said the bank "had taken their terminal" to do "updates" (I've never heard of the bank not issuing a replacement terminal because no terminal = no fees for the bank) and that we could pay by making a transfer to his personal credit card to avoid the ATM fees. When we were uncomfortable at that idea, he then said we could pay booking.com and just "pay less than the amount charged" - whatever that means. He was quite pushy considering that the listings for the hotel said it took visa and that he never told us before arrival that we would have to pay cash. At this time we decided that whatever was going on, we have never before been asked to pay a person's personal credit card, was causing us more drama then we wanted to deal with on our vacation. We went up to our room, got our bags and left to go to another hotel where payment was normal. We hope Kasvar enjoy having the hotel completely empty.

Reviewed By anchal1212The location is great.. 1 minute walk to the old city centre where most of the bazars and historical sites are. We had the most amazing English speaking host here. He makes sure that you are comfortable. The property was comfortable and well maintained. Clean hygienic linen. Since the family stays in the same property, they are there to help you with everything...guides, transportation, water, travel suggestions.... High point of the stay was the sumptuous breakfast served by the lady of the house. Rice porridge, eggs to taste...fried, boiled, omlette..bliny with vareni, fruits, tea,puff pastry, egg mantu....all served piping hot and very lovingly by the couple. We asked for more bottled water than the regular number, and were given promptly without any extra charges. The entire family makes you feel comfortable and welcome. Would recommend this property to everyone looking for a comfortable personalized stay in bukhara.

Reviewed By Mario AWe spend two nights in this hotel. It is not luxurious but clean and cosy. Breakfast is good and there are plenty of good places around to have dinner in Bahouddin Naqshbandi street, and it is walking distance to all tourist sites, and you have the Asia hotel in front with a swiming pool that you may use paying a small fee. But what makes the difference in this hotel is his manager Aziz and his assistant, very gentle and who will get anything you ask if it is possible. Aziz took us around his city to show us the not so touristic but picturesque places in the center, gave us directions to visit other places and got us taxis to travel to Khiva. We strongly recommend it.

Reviewed By almostperfect10Fantastic location, just steps away from the Kalon Mosque and Minaret. Spotless rooms, comfortable beds, nice showers with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. Owners were incredibly helpful with arranging transportation at a fair rate from the airport and to the train station. Highly recommended!
