10 Beaches in Dubrovnik That You Shouldn't Miss

June 6, 2021 Rosalyn Ihle

Dubrovnik has recovered from the war damage it suffered during the 1990s, and visitors have returned to this tranquil city. Nestled between the Adriatic and the Dinaric Alps, it’s an accessible and affordable city break for many European travelers. The pedestrian-only Old Town is especially charming.

Sveti Jakov Beach

I love the cute little beach. Is nice to see the old city from there. The water is pristine and refreshing after a hot morning walk. I arrived there by chance. I didnt take the water taxis from old Dubrovnick I went with my rented car & to get there was an adventure by itself. There is a bathroom in there & a nice tiki hut with drinks & restaurant. You can rent chairs & umbrellas. SInce I went by my own I didnt have the pressure to be ready at a certain time to get the water taxi back.

Beach Kupari

A visit to the old Kupari resort is of historic interest and also for those who aren’t old enough to remember the war in this area and for those of us who do it’s a chilling reminder of how a place of pleasure and beauty can so easily be destroyed by man and people’s lives can tragically change .

Bellevue beach

A very nice beach just a kilometre from the old town. We walked down the path near the rixos hotel to access it. There are several sets of stairs that are rough not for anyone with a disability. There aren’t any change rooms so bring a large towel. A few women were topless. The majority had bikini tops. The water is beautifully clear, there are small fish and some boulders. Interesting to snorkel. Also a cave at one end. It feels very private. Looks like you can rent a chair but could also just be for hotel guests. We stayed on the obviously public area of the beach.

Dance Beach

This is a place full of locals. The beach is just not pretty great since it has no sand, just rocks. But the place is awsome. Here you will find the best place to go if you want to run away from turists (and really close from old town!). The sunset will simply take your breath away. Also, there is a little bar that will serve cheap beers and snacks to make your evening perfect.
