These bars were a hidden venue at secret locations and were renowned for their unique cocktails and illegal spirits. The bars were unmarked by illuminated lights or able to be seen through large windows so patrons only learnt of their location by word of mouth and were only admitted inside with a secret password. Like a popular bars today the prohibition era attracted a happy noisy crowd after enjoyng a few drinks, but back then it had the risk of attracting the police, so bartenders in an attempt to quiet the crowd would say " Speak Easy Boys!" hence the term "Speakeasy". The Vanilla Club today is reminiscent of those hidden and secret bars of days gone by, a venue furnished in style hidden from the world above.
