10 Bars & Clubs in Central Business District That You Shouldn't Miss

April 1, 2022 Hana Mouser

Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

The Baxter Inn

If we hadn't been told by a Aussie in Canada about this place we would never have found it and it was the best bar experience in Australia ever - the greatest place and the friendliest staff I have met in ages, what great people and what a great place. Very hidden though and it sure gives a speakeasy impression i.e. hard to find. Can't wait to go back when in Sydney next time.

Grandma's

My third visit to Sydney and I visit Grandma's every time. Possibly my favourite bar in the CBD. Took some other friends from the UK, who were there at the same time and they also loved it - we all had a different cocktail - my favourite is the Peanut Butter Colada. Great for small groups and for couples on a date

Uncle Ming's Bar

Funky Asian ( mainly Chinese decor but heavy emphasis on Japanese drink ingredients) in central Sydney. Dark and mysterious gives you the feeling you’re in old Shanghai. Fantastic vibe. You must try the Bruce Lee cocktail. Like the man himself, it’s a knockout???? Highly recommended ????

Marble Bar

Marble Bar remains one of Sydney’s best-loved bars, featuring live entertainment Wednesday to Saturday. Built in 1893, the original Victorian-style décor and artwork make Marble Bar a must-see. This heritage-listed Sydney bar is one of the city's favourite live music venues.

This bar is a gem. Outstanding range of drinks available. The bar staff take making a cocktail to an art form. Great pride in what they are doing. Certainly, worth a visit any time day or night.
