Tabara de Sculptura Magura

It was really close to our accommodation so we decided to go. I must say we were impressed as we weren't expecting much but the sculptures are amazing. Manastirea Ciolanu is also next to it, so you can visit both on the same day (depending on how much you walk to see the sculptures - there are many!!!) Very pleasant experience!

Come see almost 300 jewels of Romanian modernist art. The museum hosts works by some of the biggest Romanian painters form the beginning of the XXth century. These painters were schooled in Europe - Paris, Munchen, etc - having studied in the classes of famous international painters. The Topalu Art Museum is a chance to see elitist (in a positive sense) and high value (some worth hundreds of thousands of euro) art housed in a small village. The very idea of priceless objects in a rural space is very interesting!
