Memorial Museum-Workshop of Z.I. Azgur

The Museum “Zair Azgur Memorial Studio” is a unique place as it is the only monographic museum in Belarus founded on the basis of the workshop of the academy of arts and Azgur’s private studio. The building was built for this purpose in 1984 and in 1996 after the death of the sculptor became the museum. This workshop was his most favourite one as it constantly inspired him on creating his masterpieces. Although the main mission of our museum is to preserve and populize the herritage of the great master we move in different directions nowadays as practically any museum nowadays. Various exsibitions of modern art take place here representing both well-known and forgotten authors. Besides we organize numerous cinema, music and theatre festivals becoming the platform for the development and self-fulfillment of the talented youth.

Interactive Music Museum

An interactive museum with unique collection of musical instruments from very rare and expensive (grand piano, harp, double bass, harpsichord, sitar...) to completely unusual sound therapy instruments (singing bowls, cauchy bells, the sound of the ocean...). You can touch and play on most of the instruments and participate in interactive programs from professional musicians, as well as enjoy delightful miniatures and pieces of art and experiments of the physics of sound to learn the inspiring world of music! The total number of exhibits in the museum is more than 300 and it's a fun both for adults and children to try yourself being musician or conductor, or just to have a rest in the atmosphere of art!

I recommend to visit music therapy - a mix of classical music and sounds of nature will plunge you into a really relaxing atmosphere.

The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus

Reviewed By dswatts69 - Manchester, United Kingdom

A wonderful art gallery in the heart of Minsk showcasing Belarusian art from the past few centuries. One pays around £3 to enter, a little more if you wish to take photos. The old stone building is attached to a grand and impressive modern extension. This holds yet more art. I was greatly impressed by the breadth of the collection and recommended spending an hour or so browsing. It's centrally located on vulica Lienina and there is a cafe which looked pleasant.
