Minute Maid Park

Reviewed By 249SusanB249

Minute Maid Park is not only home to our champion Astros , it is also home to thousands of Houstonians and guests who love this super clean, upbeat beautiful ballpark which features occasional fireworks and a fantastic train that blows its whistle and chugs across the far side of the ballpark every time a member of the Astros makes a home run. Completed in 2000, Minute Maid Park is in an extremely handsome structure with a retractable roof that is opened or closed depending on the weather conditions. You can be sure there will be no cancelled ball games because of weather. In busy downtown Houston, police officers direct traffic to minimize congestion around the park, but allow sufficient time to drive your car through crowded streets, park, and walk several blocks before you find your seat and, if you're an American, place your hand over your heart just in time for the National Anthem. Whether you're an American or a most welcome International guest, there just couldn't be any better place to watch a ball game and all the sideline entertainments than Minute Maid Park.

Rodeo Houston or Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Reviewed By nreadi - Houston, United States

I love the Rodeo, i have lived in Houston for 6 years and it is still as fun as the first time i went. There is so much more than the carnival and show, there are auctions, you can book a tour on the website, the pre rodeo 'heats', WINE GARDEN, the food, shopping and so much more! If you haven't been you just have to go. The parking/transport can be a challenge, but the organizers do a great job of getting people to their cars or managing the taxi/uber line.

TDECU Stadium

Reviewed By lynnmD6309XP - Houston, United States

I was never a football person. Ever. Until Case Keenum. Then, three "football" seasons ago when we went to the first game at TDECU stadium, which, at that time, was the "new" stadium. I got hooked. I watched it being built and had to go to the first game. And now we are season ticket holders and have gone to as many home games as we can to watch the beloved Houston Cougars play. The stadium makes watching the games a dream. It is easy to navigate and the bathrooms were designed like they should be. Lots of stalls in the women's bathroom. Lots of sinks to wash your hands. Lots of space. The tailgating is usually spot on with great food and drinks. Although parking is not right next door, there is ample parking on the campus. You just have to walk a bit. The beer and food service can be painfully slow, so just no that and stay calm. The only thing I don't get is......we have this magnificent big stadium. Why is it only used for football games and graduations? Why is UH not booking some great music concerts at this facility? In this sense, it seems like such a waste of a fantastic venue. I bet ZZ Top would play there................or Lyle Lovett............or Robert Earl Keen. Need I go on and on?
