The hotel de Ville is a magnificent building in the town square. It was not obvious to us that it was a museum and that it was free! It was very interesting with about three or four levels. The small room on the Dreyfus affair was very interesting.

It ws built in 1609 by Albert Schmidt as a Rennaisance style in red color. There are 106 heads hanging out. nowadays the building is used as a restaurant and a hotel

Synagogue of Colmar

The Colmar Synagogue was built between 1839 and 1842 and inaugurated September 15, 1843. It is built in a Romanesque Revival style and is listed as an historic monument since July 1984. With a length of 33 meters and 20 meters wide, it is the seat of the Israelite Consistory of Haut-Rhin. It is the only synagogue in Alsace to have a steeple.
