Rijksmonument Walburgiskerk Zutphen

The church has a lot of history that is definitely worth seeing. The entry fee is quite small and can be combined with the chained library, librije COVID rules are sensibly applied

Doesburger Grotekerk of Martinikerk

Reviewed By mireilleb554 - Ramnicu Valcea, Romania

I recently visited the small charming hanseatic town of Doesburg and I entered the big church, known as Martinikerk ,a late gothic basilica ,erected from medieval bricks. It was bulit in the 15 /16 century and of course it was restorated .I really liked the old pulpit dating from 1610,the cast -iron windows in and near the choir. There was an exhibition inside with photos about the church ,but only in Dutch....The 95 tower is the third highest tower in Netherlands, but in 1945 ,a day before Doesburg was liberated ,the occupying forces blew it up .The process of restoration started in 1959.I understood that only part of the bells and the carillon remained intact.Today the old clock was added to the war monument near Grote Kerk .
